Junior Help Desk Support Engineer [17292]

A continuing education, publishing, and consulting company seeks a customer service-oriented IT Support Specialist to join its team and provide technical and infrastructure support to users in an efficient and effective manner.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Responsible for day-to-day user support in a primarily Windows environment
  • Ensure the smooth operation of the IT Department by promptly addressing and resolving Windows and Mac computing-related issues and utilizing a ticket system to track phone calls and email requests
  • Support users by being involved with all aspects of the escalation and technical support process, including but not limited to the diagnosis and triage of software/hardware performance, connectivity/networking, and virus/malware issues
  • Assist the Data Center Operations Team with the installation/configuration/update/removal, operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and security of software and hardware
  • Collaborate with the Systems Administrators and Systems Engineers to provide stellar technical assistance, troubleshoot problems, and perform basic network connectivity through the phone or email for those with functionality questions
    MUST-HAVES/BE:
  • 2-4 years of experience in a technical support services or helpdesk role requiring customer interaction and support
  • Proven track record of successful network, system, and application support
  • Hands-on knowledge and configuration of multiple operating systems (Windows, Mac, Unix/Linux)
  • Basic knowledge of workstation security concepts and remediation operations
  • Uncanny analytical and troubleshooting skills driven by a logical, methodical approach
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
